“棒極了,爸爸!”
"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.
"你看到窮人的生活了嗎?”父親問道。
"Yeah!" "And what did you learn?"
“是的!”“那你從中學(xué)到了什么呢?”
The son answered, "I saw that we have a dog at home, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden; they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lamps in the garden; they have the stars. Our patio reaches to the front yard; they have a whole horizon."
兒子回答道:“我看到我們家只有一只狗,而他們家有四只。我們的游泳池一直延伸到花園中間,而他們的小溪沒有盡頭。我們在花園里裝了進(jìn)口燈具,而他們有滿天星斗。我們的天井接著前院,而他們擁有整個(gè)地平線。”
When the little boy was finishing, his father was speechless.
當(dāng)小男孩說完的時(shí)候,他的父親目瞪口呆。
His son added, "Thanks, dad, for showing me how poor we are!"
他的兒子接著又補(bǔ)充道:“謝謝爸爸讓我看到我們是多么貧窮!”
